The blocks are real containers. Every tile is a 2.90 metre square of container wall, which is the one square you can cut out of a 40ft high cube honestly, since a container is 12.19 by 2.44 by 2.90 and nothing else about it is square. They are modelled and lit in Blender by scripts/build_stack_tiles.py and painted in the same seven paint variants Cargo City is painted in, read out of the same file. Change the city's palette and these change with it.
The stencilled codes are not decoration. The city has five paint families and the game needs seven pieces, so two pairs came back from the first render too close to tell apart while one of them was falling. A container yard already solved that, with paint.
